The Eugene International Film Festival is Supported by Those Who Love the Storytelling Artistry of Motion Pictures.

EIFF festival workshops are "Ivy League" quality, headlined by industry leaders, mentors known for their ability to inspire excellence.  Many EIFF celebrity guests visit schools, meeting students interested in film and television.

Several films have been acquired for distribution as a result of being shown at the Eugene International Film Festival.  In 2009 a distributor from Europe joined domestic distributors shopping the EIFF.

Your support is needed to make these educational opportunities available and to present the films that are the result of human history, legend and imagination.

Economic Impact and Visitor Study of
The Eugene International Film Festival

2007/2008 Data, the most current. A four year study will be released in 2011.

Overall the audience satisfaction rating was 97.2% in 2008.  Attendees also agreed that the 2008 film selection was excellent.  Attendees gave high satisfaction marks for the personnel and the October date of the film festival in 2007, and again in 2008.

The EIFF attracts noted filmmaking professionals and film enthusiasts, domestic and international.  The festival has achieved higher levels of attendance, higher satisfaction levels, longer stays in the area, and increased repeat visitors to Eugene/Springfield.

Over two-thirds of those attending the festival were not residents of Eugene/Springfield in 2007, while in 2008 58% were out of state attendees.  The majority of the attendees (64% in 2007 and 89% in 2008) had as their primary purpose of the trip to participate in the Eugene International Film Festival.

The average age of visitors was 43.41 years in 2007 and 45 in 2008.  Women represented 60% of the attendees in 2007 and 47% in 2008.

On average, attendees had visited Eugene eight times prior to 2007.  Attendees in 2008 had visited Eugene over 12 times in the past.

Overnight attendees spent two to five nights in the area in 2007.  In 2008, they stayed on average six nights.  Some visited the Oregon Coast and cities on the I-5 corridor as part of their itinerary.

Films from about 17 different countries are typically part of the festival profile.  The EIFF is still a young festival.  While it has not achieved the fame or funding of the top world festivals it has achieved the substance.

Filmmakers from Canada, the US, and Europe typically attended the festival.  A filmmaker from Australia would have been here in 2008 but her attendance was prevented by an airline delay.
