Films from about 17 different countries are typically part of the festival profile. The EIFF is still a young festival. While it has not achieved the fame or funding of the top world festivals it has achieved the substance.
Filmmakers from Canada, the US, and Europe typically attended the festival. A filmmaker from Australia would have been here in 2008 but her attendance was prevented by an airline delay.
